What is PDB?
PDB - Pak Data Base is an online database developed by Institute of Research Promotion (IRP) to facilitate researchers. PDB provides abstracting and indexing facility of research published in the journals of Pakistan. PDB is a comprehensive database covering the necessities of both academic and corporate research.
PDB provides access to 25,000+ abstracts of research published in Pakistani journals. PDB is a pure collection source of authenticated published research journals which are made available after the permission of authors. PDB services are limited to offer the abstracts of published research, with acknowledgement of original publishing source and author name.
PDB is designed for research scholars who need locally published research. PDB provides you strong base of literature published previously and help you step forward. By having access to research conducted by other Pakistani authors of your area, you can collaborate and share the expertise.
PDB incorporates search and browsing facilities along with advanced searching to help you specify your results.

PDB has direct impact on the promotion of authorship and publishing culture in Pakistan. The research of authors gets national and international coverage through PDB. The authors directly can send their research abstracts published in Pakistani journals with complete publishing reference. The papers, presented in conferences, technical reports and working papers are also abstracted in the PDB.
The editors of journals are encouraged to send their journals for abstracting with the abstracts of all published papers. The journals send regular data for abstracting are taken as publishing partner of PDB. The editors are requested submit registration form for being publishing partner of PDB. The names of journals with their departments are displayed on PDB web as publishing partners.
PDB is a very comprehensive database developed in collaboration with many individuals and institutions. The maximum work of PDB is done through volunteers from all over the Pakistan. The new volunteers are encouraged to join PDB team for various tasks like: • Data collection • Data digitization • Data entry • Marketing and promotion • IT work • Others
We request the individuals/institutions/organizations/associations to be the part of PDB development. The sponsors of PDB project are requested for Rs. 50,000 for a year. The payment could be made through four easy installments. We advertise the logo/link of sponsors on main interface of PDB for the sponsored period and acknowledge the organization as “Sponsor of PDB”.
